A life-long love of
drawing and painting lead me to study fine arts and receive a
Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) from the University of Regina in
2000. Focusing on Painting with a minor in Art History, I began
showing and selling artwork while still a student.
Continuing my art practice, this small town prairie girl from
Saskatchewan ventured to the big city, to Toronto, Ontario. There I
apprenticed with an accomplished Canadian muralist and decorative
painter at Waterdown Studios, creating a variety of works in both
private homes and business settings. Upon returning to
Saskatchewan, I pursued independent mural projects; most
often these were commissions for public spaces, including several
murals at a local hospital. Along the way, other artistic
pursuits have included: ceramic arts and glazing, carving and
building scenic props for photographers, sign and set painting for
the movie industry, and smaller painted works on panel and canvas.
I have enjoyed working in
Canada, as well as overseas in New Zealand. Recently I have
relocated to British Columbia and look forward to further
artistic projects in my new location.
